About the pilot
Public opinion, manufactured
In Texas, a bill to decriminalize THC is gaining ground, and a man with conflicting interests would like it to stop. Through a chain of cutouts too long to follow, this initiative lands at BLIP, an influence shop whose experts aim to make anything sound like common sense. They have a staff that believes deeply in the work, whatever the work is that week.
What they don’t have is a way past Carolyn Dean, the bill’s sponsor: a Christian foster mom with the facts, a lot of patience, and no interest in going away. Shot as a documentary of BLIP’s most ambitious campaign, The Experts follows the people who manufacture public opinion for a living, and the foe they cannot seem to out-message.
